To blog or not to blog.
I put together this little list here for signs of blog addiction, if anyone has anything to add or comment, please do so.
You know your a serious blogger when...
1. Friends begin to call you by your blog name. ( and vice-versa)
2. Your times of posting are all hours of the day, whether its four in the afternoon or four in the morning.
3. Your considering a career in blog psychology.
4. Your friends all come to you for blog questions and advice, 'cuz you have all the answers.
5. You consider yourself a "blog guru"
6. You have more "blog buddies" then "real life friends".
7. Getting over 50 comments to a post or over 1000 hits a day no longer thrills you.
8. Your blog-roll goes on forever.
9. Your daily activates are divided into two categories, blogworthy or unblogworthy. ("To blog or not to blog")
10. Your mother wants to know how your day was, and you tell her to read your blog.
11. Your considering checking yourself into blog rehab, and joining the support group called bloggers anonymous.
Blog y'all later.

Sheesh man! You described all my symptoms!
:)
so far i can only relate to 2, 9 & 10...
hoho! knew this would be comin one day...
funny cuz i actually get aggravated when people blogerize me (great word, eh? stay tuned for the definition). when people call me up OVERSEAS (!!) to question & discuss what i wrote. or when my MOTHER tells me 'o i havent read ur blog lately, i have no idea whats going on in ur life' (never mind we speak every day..) or when friends discuss blog politics. gosh. (roll eyes)
Contributing to your goal of 50.
...and i'll be a bit generous and give you two.
would you be considered a blog addict?
DOVID: Oh man, that doesn't sound good, that is serious ;)
Web doctors say its not healthy to quit cold turkey and if interested in quitting you should do so slowly, that way your fingers wont twitch from lack of typing and your nerves will remain intact as well.
RENEGADE: Dude, and you only started your blog like a week ago, be sure to keep watch, in case more symptoms should show, do a virus scan immediately, you might be infected.
ESHET: Quick definitions (guru)
noun:
"a recognized leader in some field or of some movement" (Example: "A guru of genomics")
SABRA: Blogerize, I'll have to remember that one :)
Haven't had people calling me yet, but hey blog is a great topic for discussion (almost like the weather, always there, yet constantly changing) Don't think my mom would ever read my blog she thinks the computer is a big timewaster, shucks.
PESACH: Thank you, and thanks again :)
ANON: Depends who you ask, maybe.
I think definitely not hardcore, maybe slightly addicted (fingers trembling.)
But, but, but, my name really IS Kasamba!!!
(is there life after blogging?)
Oooooo this is a really good topic!
Y'see, because I understand blog psychology so well, all my friends come to me for advice - I'm like the blog guru.
So I think I'm going to make a post about blog addiction on MY blog, and then all my blog friends and I can post philosophical comments about it till 4 in the morning. Hmmmmm - I'll probably get a gazillion hits from it...again. No biggie.
Ill cya at the next BA meeting bro ;)!
KASAMBA: Is it really? how then do you know real life from blog-life? Also had me wondering where the word kasamba comes from, I googled it and came up with some interesting stuff such as "Daughters of Kasamba:
The Goba People of the Zambezi River" funky no?
BTW, there is no life after blogging... unless you blog about it ;)
JB: LOL! Great comment, you had me cracking up there, waiting to see if you would actually write a post about it, and what you can come up with.
12. You get withdrawal symptoms when you haven't posted anything in over 12 hours.
13. Your To-Do list prioritizes blog posting as #1... and of course, there's 2 more activities re: blogging - reading comments & responding to comments.
14. You actually question if something you remember was from real life or something you read/saw somewhere on bloggerville...
and on... and on... and on...
GOOD POST :)
Cool list. Thankfully I am not yet a blog addict. Hope I dont fall into that trap one day, but who knows!
k. I know eveyone is like totally MEMed out, but I was reading the time, chance upon the AE "my card" add and thought, wow.. we should pass that around. you know
MY goal is...
My life is..
my alarmclock
my card..
check it out. its cool
Help!! I got a bad case of blogittus!! is there any "support" groups?? nice post, yanks
Hi. My name is Sarah and I'm a blogaholic.
I identify with way too many of those points! Addicted to blogging - reading blogs, checking blogs, posting, reading comments, replying to comments, updating the layout, adding links... the list goes on!
well im just trying to get your hits up past 50 ;)
I missed so much!
At least I return with the safe knowledge I'm not an addict!
no 6 stung though.
The other day my family went on a trip.
My sister turned to me at one point and said,
"I know what you're thinking."
"What?" I asked.
"You're thinking about what your going to write about this trip on your blog."
For the record, I made a photo essay
Yes, I too am an addict. But it's a good addiction.
Well just to tell you how far gone I am: my Hubby called me by my given name (a far cry from Kasamba) and I looked at him blankly and said, "Oh, are you talking to me?"
It looks like you tapped into J-Blogosphere. Quite a scene. Goodluck handling the crowds.
Ciao.
here's my contribution to the 50 :)
Here's another list from AbbaGav:
http://abbagav.blogspot.com/2005/07/youre-taking-blogging-too-seriously-if_17.html
Great list. And here is a question - the question that torments all serious bloggers, or at least me:
Any chance that someday people who aren't bloggers themselves will read us?
Darius: Surveeeeey Says: No!
WOW, to many comment to reply to, but thank you all for your comments and support, if this is what being a addicted blogger is all about then I'm in!
Loved all the comments, someday I'll have to revise the list to include some of these comments.
As long as I dont find myself identifying with this lis (and i dont) I can breathe a sigh of relief!
thank god i can honestly say this doesnt apply to me
I dunno if you see comments on your old posts, but I thought of a great one:
How about, when you type:
.blogspot.com after every URL you enter?!?
