Volcano pacaya!

total elevation 8000+ Ft. It was really awesome climbing it! Definitely was not easy especially once you start getting near the top it gets really steep and difficult and even a bit dangerous. But once you make it to the top and see the smoke and lava/fire in the crater not to mention all the funky colored lava rocks, it all becomes worth it! I didn't even realize the sunburn until I came home:(Posted by Picasa

Pacaya climb

Estimated time of climb 2+ hours. My timing 1 1/2 hours! The poor guide that was with me was going through hell to keep up with me, he actually wanted to quit a few times and let me go ahead and wait for me at certain points till I came back! But I kept on teasing him by asking what would it look like if he the guide didn't make it up? Also I did pay him good money, So anyhow that really got him going and he basically managed to keep up with me (usually like 30 or 40 Ft behind me:) But we both made it and I'm pretty sure it was the best timing he ever did.Posted by Picasa

Chicken Bus

Ok so this is basically a regular city bus known here as the chicken bus, its normally a Mercedes made bus, and must times are old and used school busses that have so much black smoke coming out of the muffler it cant be used in any normal city or country. There are many reasons for the name chicken bus including the fact that many times ppl actually bring their animals on there such as chickens or even pigs (ewww) Also another reason for the name would be because it really is amazing how many ppl can squeeze into that bus (like chickens) at a time! It really is funny at times to watch the bus in action.Posted by Picasa

Bus Caller

This guy is basically paid by whoever is driving the chicken bus to hang out by the door and sometimes even to run alongside the bus and yell out the destinations etc. Reason for this is because A. Nothing is official here and the routes keep on changing B. Most ppl here are illiterate! So the sign on the bus is basically worthless.
oh and another one of the bus callers jobs is to make sure all the ppl manage to fit on the bus, so he shoves and squeezes them in until they are all as uncomfortable as possible. Posted by Picasa

Agua Volcano

Yes agua means water and the reason why its called the water volcano is because it has been inactive so long that there is a lake of water in the crater.
Also this picture is from the city of Antigua which is where we went sokkos with the sokka mobile and met tons of Israelis there! Posted by Picasa
